The ONE FACULTY campaign continued work intiated with the COLA FOR ALL campaign in 2023-24, following efforts by the Committee on Conditions of Teaching (CCT) in the 2022-23 academic year to address longstanding faculty compensation concerns.
In October 2024, SLC AAUP wrote to President Cristle Collins Judd, asking her to convey to the Board of Trustees our call to include all guest and affiliate faculty in salary and benefit increases. We also announced our commission of a financial analysis of Sarah Lawrence by the national AAUP.
On March 3, we submitted to the president our One Faculty petition, signed by 173 members of the SLC faculty, representing a super-majority, and surpassing the number of colleagues who signed the COLA for ALL petition the previous year.
As approved by chapter members in September 2024, we successfully raised 25% of the cost of the analysis from individual donors (thank you!), and were awareded a generous grant from the national AAUP/AFT for the balance. We received the report in April 2025, and convened a well-attended presentation for chapter members on April 17, 2025. A recording of the presentation is available to members upon request: slc.aaup@gmail.com
