5.1 PRIORITIES & PROMISES (25-26)

The PRIORITIES AND PROMISES campaign continued the efforts of our ONE FACULTY (2024-25) and COLA FOR ALL (2023-24) campaigns, seeking fair pay for all who teach at SLC.

Responding to the budget crisis presented to the faculty and staff in October 7, 2025, SLC AAUP convened a faculty forum later that month. Based on discussions in that forum and in subsequent months, we formulated the Priorities and Promises campaign and detailed the rationale for changes needed to sustain the core mission of the college. In April, we submitted the petition signed by a super-majority of faculty to President Cristle Collins Judd and the Board of Trustees, calling on them to honor the commitment to SLC’s core mission by prioritizing the undergraduate and graduate curriculum in budget decisions, to honor the commitments of the Compensation Policy approved by the Board of Trustees, and to include all guest and affiliate faculty in salary and benefit increases.
